Giant Epidote Cluster
A spectacular, oversized Epidote crystal specimen from the Dassu area or the Shigar Valley in Balochistan/Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan . This dramatic large-cabinet piece measures approximately 7” tall × 6” wide × 3.5” deep and weighs an impressive 6 pounds.
Hundreds of deep forest-green to nearly black Epidote crystals blanket the specimen from virtually every angle, creating an extraordinary three-dimensional display. The crystals range from sharp individual prisms to radiating sprays and distinctive bow-tie-like aggregates, with striated faces that catch the light beautifully. The back side shows mica inclusions adding depth. Small areas of pale Quartz matrix provide subtle contrast beneath the rich green crystal coverage.
Epidote is a calcium aluminum iron silicate, prized by mineral collectors for its intense pistachio-to-forest-green color, elegant bladed crystal habit, and strong luster. Pakistan's Dassu area Epidote is especially appreciated for forming these dense, sculptural crystal clusters.
This is not a small decorative cluster—it is a substantial, statement-level collector specimen with commanding presence, impressive weight, and exceptional all-around crystallization. A standout addition for an Epidote collector, Moroccan-mineral collector, or anyone who loves dramatic natural crystal formations.
