Beautiful Agate Slab

A gorgeous natural agate slab from Mexico featuring sweeping layers of smoky blue-gray, soft blue, cream and earthy tones arranged in beautiful flowing bands.

The polished face reveals remarkable natural patterning, with layers that curve and ripple through the stone like a miniature landscape. Around the perimeter, delicate bands of translucent chalcedony contrast beautifully with remnants of the natural outer matrix, preserving some of the specimen’s original character.

One of the most striking features of this piece is its translucency. When placed in front of a window, lamp or lighted display, light passes through portions of the agate and dramatically enhances its internal banding, depth and subtle variations in color. It would be especially beautiful displayed on an illuminated stand.

It is also UV reactive, giving this specimen another dimension entirely under ultraviolet light and making it a wonderful choice for collectors who enjoy fluorescent minerals.

The combination of a polished display face, natural matrix, intricate banding, translucency and UV response makes this much more than an ordinary agate slab.
