Malachite with Chrysocolla Specimen
Natural Malachite & Chrysocolla Slice | Double-Sided Specimen | 6 cm | 77 g
This beautiful natural malachite and chrysocolla slice showcases a captivating combination of vibrant turquoise blues, rich emerald greens, and intricate mineral patterns. Featuring two distinctly different sides, this specimen beautifully illustrates the fascinating relationship between these two copper-bearing minerals.
The front displays a stunning blend of brilliant turquoise-blue chrysocolla interwoven with deep green malachite. Delicate, cloud-like formations, intricate speckling, and flowing bands of color create an almost landscape-like appearance. The striking contrast between the vivid blues and greens gives this piece wonderful depth and visual interest.
The reverse side reveals a dramatically different appearance, dominated by rich forest-green malachite with subtle concentric patterns and eye-like formations. A beautiful, undulating band of pale mineral matrix cuts across the surface, bordered by vibrant green layers that highlight the specimen's natural growth patterns.
Malachite and chrysocolla frequently occur together in the oxidized zones of copper deposits, creating spectacular combinations of color and texture. Malachite is known for its distinctive green banding, while chrysocolla contributes beautiful blue-green hues. Together, they produce some of the most visually captivating specimens in the mineral world.
This piece is not fully polished and has some slight surface scratches, which are visible upon close inspection. Its partially polished finish preserves some of the specimen's natural texture and character.
